Children are a Blessing
Soon after my first child was born, I had the privilege to join a “New Mother’s Bible Study” our church sponsored. I gathered with friends, old and new, who were pregnant or holding nursing babes as we listened to older, wiser, moms share their hearts and encourage us from God’s Word. One of the pearls of wisdom I took from that study became a pivotal principle for Mark and me as we raised our children...
Looney House
This past weekend, our family had the privilege of participating in the Fall Festival put on by the St Clair County Historical Society at the John Looney Pioneer Museum. We affectionately refer to it as “The Looney House” around these parts, an apropos place for the Travers family to assemble, don’t you think?
Summer's Gone!
Summer just flew by in the Travers' household. I blinked and it was over.
I (sadly) have only Beth Anne and John Luke in my homeschool this year. They dutifully started back to school in July and are well on their way through their first semester. It is a different “season” of life to have self-motivated learners who just wake up each morning and do what they are supposed to do without being asked or prodded. I planned, set their course, and they just took off full sail. I think I may create one of my famous chore charts just to make “old mom” feel better - for nostalgia’s sake, ‘ya know.

Wow! I can't believe it's Spring. I know it's that time of year because my trees outside are beginning to explode with intoxicating fragrances and vivid colors, and I am beginning to sneeze!. The birds chirping outside my windows are promising me that warmer weather is just around the corner. March is always a special time for our family...
